Sculpture Garden Video

I have been shooting a bit of video, but never seem to have the time to put it together, I finally got around to doing something. Take a look and tell me what you think. The best way to watch this is to click on the video, then click on the HD button, then click to 'watch this video on vimeo', then click full screen (this is in the lower right hand side, next the the vertical bars (that are the volume), then click scaling off.

Sculpture Garden

For those that have never been to the Sculpture Garden in Seattle, it is a pretty neat place.  It was finished about two years ago and is a great little waterfront park.  Over the past couple of weeks we have had some amazing weather in Seattle, so we took the kidos down there.  I was lucky enough to have my camera and was able to capture a couple of the best photo's I think I have taken to date.

Ava vs. the Donkey

Whenever I see this donkey, I always think of the Donkey in Shrek. "Donkey!"

We got this funny inflatable donkey a couple of months ago, at that point the kids were petrified of it and it was more like a baby torture device. They did not have the balance required to actually sit on it, so when they tried they would fall to one side or the other in with a squawk and crash.

As you can see, Ava now has mastered the donkey. Both kids really like it now... bouncy, bouncy, bouncy...

Brother & Sister

The kids are definitely learning who each other is. They seem to have this strange obsession of being in the same place as each other although they don't seem to see eye to eye all the time. I imagine any of you out there with either siblings or the parents of siblings are very familiar with this. They are really quit funny, in the morning Ava (who is normally up earlier) is constantly trying to go back into their room to get Owen and when Owen finally gets up he is much more interested in seeing Ava than me, at least until one of them takes the other one's lovey.

The point that I actually really realized that they actually liked each other was about two weeks ago when Ava and Tracy were leaving the house (for some reason that I can not remember) and Owen and I were staying home. Owen was a little upset that they were leaving, I assumed it was because Mom was leaving. I thought it would be a good idea to let Owen play on the stairs, this is an activity that both kids really like, so Owen is walking down the stairs and starting saying 'Aba.... Aba... Aba...' once he realized that Ava left the house he totally lost it.

Some Assembly Required

So we got the tricycle from Amazon (of course), but it required a bit of assembly. Tracy was nice enough to start the project, but soon she needed to call in the heavy guns. As you can by Owen's presence during this processes he was very anxious to get it out and about. I am sure that this is not that the last time that Owen will be helping while we put something together. Ava, although not as interested in the assembly processes is still interested in the bike itself.

Owen's love for the tricycle was soon over shadowed by a more interesting motorized vehicle.

Bike Helmets

So we headed to the bike shop to get my bike fixed (don't ask) and we stumble across kids sized bike helmets. I think by the end of the week we will have the first triclycle, as you can imagine I am very excited. Owen has become obsessed with anything that has wheels, so he will very happy!

A Normal Weekend

We have settled into a pretty solid weekend routine at this point. Which basically consists of getting up, feeding everyone, getting out of the house to go and play somewhere (recently we have been going to U Village) - which has a good play area and shopping for Mom and Dad (really Mom), then heading to kindermusic (age appropriate music stuff), back home for naps then out again to the park.

Video documentary for those that are interested.

We love the little people

Also a couple of really good pictures

Pouty?

Looks like both kids are working on their pouty faces.  I am not sure why either kid is upset, we had just finished playing for something like an hour, but clearly we had not met their expectations.

Sunny in Seattle?

I know that it is hard to beleive, but sometimes the sun does shine in Seattle. So we took advantage of one of these rare sunny winter days to head down to the part and enjoy the sun.
